This walleye won't break the bank at $16.50, but the portion is proportional to the price i.e. not huge. The freshwater fillet is split into three small pieces which increases the fish:breading ratio nicely. This breading is wonderfully crunchy and offsets the flakiness of the fish quite well.
Hand-cut fries come along for the ride and are great, but there must have been a few small spuds in the mix because I had a fair amount of nubs when all was said and done. Not a huge issue, but it is what it is.
A unique sauce comes with the fish, and while it's super tasty, it doesn't work great with the fish IMO. Sure, I used all of it, but I think a more traditional tartar would take things to another level.
Since there wasn't any bread the last thing to look at was the slaw. It was clearly made in-house and incredibly fresh, but could use a little more pop.
Blind Shot is a great place with a concise, thoughtful menu and impressive drinks. The Friday Fish Fry is quirky for sure, but still satisfying. Overall, I'd recommend it and think it's a good deal for some good fish.
