Lunch was really good, but I think dinner might have been even better. I wasn't starving after a huge 3-piece earlier in the day so the 5-piece bluegill from R&J's Saloon hit me just right. The fillets were thin and crispy yet maintained a supple texture. The cheesy hash brown casserole was a nice change of pace, while the tartar was the traditional thick and zesty supper club style. The slaw looked and tasted homemade, and contrasted nicely with the basic roll which was as store-bought as they come. Overall, this was an incredibly satisfying Fish Fry and well worth the short drive out to Mazo.

The $19 walleye Fish Fry from R&J's Saloon in Mazomanie definitely hit the spot. The fillet was wonderfully flaky and highlighted by a light and crispy breading. The hash brown casserole was on point, the tartar took the fish to another level, the slaw was tasty and unique, and the roll was as fresh as a packaged bun can be. Overall, this was a really satisfying little Fish Fry that's worth checking out.
