Comment: Here’s 4/5 of the Funks’s Pub Friday Fish Fry (the roll rolled in after the pic). The best 20% was the hash browns with cheese and onion, hands down. They were preposterously plentiful and really delicious. The massive mound was followed by a couple cups of thick and creamy (and extremely necessary) tartar. The reason for the necessity was the three pieces of decadent beer battered cod which had a nice flavor and dense consistency. While it did lack a little flakiness and leaked a little grease it was still tasty enough. Lastly came the slaw, which was clearly homemade but just not all that alluring…the un-pictured roll was damn good and pretty much made up for that shortcoming though. Overall, this was a fine Fry and much better than when we had it way back when.
