Comment: This was a real quick romp through the Barrel Inn so I'll keep this brief.
I was there for lunch. Supposedly the dinner menu is much more expansive with many more options. We're going back for it soon - stay tuned...
Lunch is a 2-piece cod affair. $8. The cod is hand battered with a non-descript light beer. It actually had a nice creamy flavor and wasn't overly thick, but wasn't thin either. Good solid cod.
Some plain Jane crinkle-cut fries sit aside the cod and are dusted with season salt. Adequately fried, but just so-so crinkles. No big whoop.
A thick and bold tartar worked will with the hefty fish. Some super creamy slaw likely came right out of the big Sysco jar, and there was no bread with the lunch fish.
It was a quick and dirty Fish Fry which sort of justifies this quick and dirty review. Overall, we recommend this Fish Fry, but are very curious to see what happens after 4pm...
