Comment: Sometimes kids have hockey practice on Friday nights, and sometimes you’re curious how the fish is at a place like Monk’s, so sometimes you do what you need to do. In all honesty, the 3-piece cod wasn’t all that bad. The pieces were certainly hearty, but entombed in a beefy batter that totally dominated the fish. While I know some people really enjoy a lot of batter I prefer mine lighter which allows the fish shine a little more. It actually paired pretty well with the mayo-centric tartar though and made the crispness of the battered fries that much more inviting. The slaw was pretty standard which is all you need sometimes. Sometimes things work out, I guess.
