Comment: I’ve been wanting to get the Fish Fry at @turnkeymadison for a while now and finally had the opportunity tonight, and man, was it worth the wait!
The $21 2-piece was excellent with the focus being on the actual fish (as it should be). The haddock was pure and flaky, with the highlight being its crisp and rich beer batter. It was a wonderful rendition with fish and batter being in perfect balance.
The mushaboom fries were basically just standard shoestrings, but dusted with a delightful savory seasoning (which made them something more).
The tartar was clearly made in-house and as unique as you’ll see. Seemingly made with fresh herbs (and maybe some pimiento), its slight tang and smooth consistency complimented the haddock well.
The Old Bay slaw was also house-made and tasty, as was the bitty biscuit that added a welcomed gritty texture to the plate.
Overall, this was everything we expected from Turn Key and more. They essentially nailed every element and have added another great option to the post-COVID Madison Fish Fry scene.www.turnkeymadison.com/
