Comment: When I heard the WTF had a Fish Fry now I knew I needed to get over there ASAP. I was pretty happy with what I found.
The 2-piece cod runs $15, which is about right in this day and age. The chunks of cod are nice and flaky and that flake is offset by a crispy beer batter. It’s aided by a slick tartar that does its job admirably.
Some of the Weary’s garlic chips come along for the ride and are exactly what you’ve come to know, but the slaw is something completely unexpected. This purple cabbage masterpiece is unlike anything I’ve had before - incredibly fresh, tangy, and highlighted by a hint of cilantro. Truly memorable. A slab of toasted rye was mentioned by the waiter but didn’t manifest itself on the plate.
The @weary_traveler608 has always had great food and the Fish Fry makes a wonderful addition to the menu. Overall, this one is easily recommendable and we will be back for sure (probably on a Wednesday next time).www.wearytravelerfreehouse.com
