Comment: When you’re in Chicago on a Friday night to pay your respects to a good friend you do what you gotta do.

The Lenten Fish Fry special at Tuman’s Tap & Grill wasn’t anything special but in this instance we didn’t really need it to be. It provided a little piece of mind at an otherwise crazy time.

The three pieces of beer battered cod were standard, and the thin tartar improved it ever so slightly. The house-cut fries were easily the best thing on the plate as there wasn’t any bread or slaw to speak of.

Overall, this Fish Fry was about what we’d expect south of the border. I was glad it was there but I’m certainly not paying the tolls to come back just to get it. For Chicago the $17 price tag was pretty reasonable though. So yeah…
