Comment: Fish and (literal) Chips in Cancun. Far from a real Fish Fry but about what I expected.
The catch of the day was Mahi Mahi which is probably the best tropical fish for deep frying. It was actually pretty decent and the batter actually had some flavor. The chips were okay, but fries would have been better. The sweet potato curly thingys were an interesting addition, the puréed peas were a bit heavy on the mint, but the tartar was actually really good and perked the fish up a ton.
Obviously, I didn’t expect a true Fish Fry in Mexico, but I had to do what I could on a Friday night in the tropical paradise. While I clearly wouldn’t recommend you fly to Cancun for this one I’m still glad I gave it a try. Excited to be back to the Potosi Fish Fry contest next week.cancun.garzablancaresort.com/gourmet-dining/gourmet-hall
